Thank you for visiting the New Middletown Police Department information page. The police department is a full-service department, offering 24-hour police protection. In addition to responding to calls for service, the department maintains the,"small town personal service" approach that allows officers to assist residents and businesses beyond the normal policing authority. The Village is a beautiful community and the police take great pride in being proactive to the needs and quality of life issues within our community.

The police department maintains four full-time officers and five part-time officers to meet our expectations of providing professional police services. Please use our website to become familiar with your police officers and programs offered by the police department.

Vince D'Egidio

Police Chief

Vincent D'Egidio

  • Chief D'Egidio began his career at
    the New Middletown Village Police Department in 1981.
  • He serves on several task forces: as a Hostage Negotiator for the Mahoning County Crisis Response Team, former three-year Commander of the Mahoning County Multi-Jurisdictional Homicide Task Force where he currently serves as an investigator, Media Informational Officer for the Mahoning County OVI Task Force.
  • He is certified as a Crisis Intervention Officer.
Schaper

Phil Schaper
Detective

  • Schaper was promoted to Detective in 2013 and is responisble for Criminal Investigations in additon to his patrol duties
  • Schaper has been assigned to the Mahoning County Heroin Interdiction Team in November 2013 to intercept heroin on the highway, hotels/motels and in parcels
  • Officer Schaper has been serving with the New Middletown Village Police Department since 2004.
  • In addition to basic patrol functions, he serves as an investigator.
  • He is a member of the Mahoning County Multi-Jurisdictional Homicide Task Force and OVI Task Force.
  • Officer Schaper is certified as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer (CVE).
  • He is certified as a Crisis Intervention Officer.
  • He is a certified School Resource officer.

  • Ptl. Tyler Beck is a full time
    Police Officer assigned to the
    Patrol Division.
  • Ptl. Beck is a graduate of the
    Kent Sate Police Academy.
  • He is a certified School Resource officer.
  • He is a certified Crisis Intervention Officer.
Booksing

Brian Booksing
Officer

  • Officer Booksing has served with the New Middletown Village Police Department since 1997.
  • He works as a part-time Patrol Officer assigned to the patrol division.
  • He is certified Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer (CVE).
  • Patrolman Booksing serves full-time as a Traffic Investigator for the Youngstown Police Department.
Bob Martin

  • He is a Certified Crisis Intervention Officer
  • Ptl. Martin serves as the Department Armorer
  • He is also employed as a Full Time Police Officer at Humility of Mary Health Partners

 

Michael Sobnosky

  • Officer Sobnosky is a full time Police Officer assigned to the Patrol Division.
  • He is certified as a Crisis Intervention officer.

Christopher Walla

  • Officer Walla is a part time police officer assigned to the Patrol division.
  • He is a certified Crisis Intervention Officer.
